SISSEL PREDIGER

I am so happy you are here! My name is Sissel (pronounced like Thistle, just without the T’s). I am originally from Norway, but settled in the prairies over a decade ago after looking for work experience in other countries.

I believe that the actions and choices we make in our lives will eventually lead us to where we need to be, and today I am proud to call Saskatoon and Canada my home. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Regina, and I am a Registered Social Worker.

For several years I have had the pleasure of supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in a variety of settings both through non-profit and government. One of my research interests includes individuals with intellectual disabilities and the challenges related to ageing. I therefore have considerable experience when it comes to life changes including cognitive and physical changes.

Counselling Styles

Using talk therapy rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), my goal will be to work on developing coping skills and help you feel empowered to be the leader in your own life. We all have a story; it is time for you to be proud of yours!

I enjoy seeing others succeed, set their own goals and be intentional about them. I believe that if you are not intentional in your goal setting, your goals will not be sustainable. I use a strength-based approach where we highlight the qualities you already hold as a human being and find appropriate ways to utilize them.

FunFacts

Fun Facts

I like to tap into my creative side by spending time in the kitchen creating foods and baked goods for my family and friends.

Gift-giving and acts of service are my two strongest love languages, and when I utilize those languages, I feel very fulfilled as a person.

Languages: ENGLISH & NORWEGIAN

A tough spin class with some heavy beats, or a good weightlifting session make any day feel instantly better for me, and it gives me strength and energy both on a physical and mental level.

If my body and mind crave relaxation, I will dive into any love triangle reality show that I can find on TV; 90 Day Fiancé is a personal favourite!
